What's Been Going On?
It's been awhile since my last blog post, so I wanted to give some sort of update! There has been a lot of personal stuff going on in my life, Long story short I've have been helping take care of some of my elder family members due to various medical issues. Everyone is slowly getting better, and although it's been a very stressful and busy time for me and my entire family, I've found the time to still work on my art almost every day, it has honestly become a nice escape from the hectic daily life I'm dealing with now. But putting this chapter of my life behind me and moving on to happy news, yesterday was my birthday! I wanted to post this on my birthday, but I didn't finish writing it in time. Sometimes I feel a bit behind other people around my age, many of whom are graduating college and finding careers in their field by now, but at the same time I feel confident that becoming an artist was the right choice for me. I assume it's just all down to perspective. I'm happy that I am where I am now, and that I'm not stuck just playing video games all day anymore :) I've now been doing art for about 3 years now, about 2 years of 3D and getting close to 1 year of drawing. And even though most of it has just been learning and experimenting, it's been fun! Just in these past 6 months alone I've learned so much about making better illustrations, my whole perspective on it is changed now (no pun intended). It's basically been a training arc for myself since I haven't had the time to post things consistently, lol. One of the biggest things I realized is that that I was lacking quite a bit in fundamentals. My drawing process consisted of just putting lines on the page and trying to make things look good, and it was clear after a few posts that this wasn't working well. I didn't even know how to properly use references yet. Since then I've taken the time to learn about anatomy, structure, perspective, and all of that stuff that any respectable self-proclaimed artist should know. I've also given some serious thought as to the sort of content I want to make, why I want to make it, and what sort of art style fits best with my ideas. Needless to say, It has all made such a huge difference. I'm more confident in making art, and making it way better than what I've been able to do before. I would say that I'm not quite ready to start making consistent posts quite yet, but I wanted to make this blog post to give an update since it had been so long. But even though I'm not ready yet, I know that I'm getting close! I can feel it. I sorta understand tech companies now when they make comments like "we won't have that technology available until 2025". I'm thinking I probably won't be ready myself to start posting consistently until the beginning of 2023 or so, but when I do I am confident that it is going to be some good stuff :) I'll see you then!
